I recalled months before the storm, the electricity had gone off in the neighborhood and the people came out of their houses. We had an opportunity to talk with each other. Although we were compalining about how inconvenienced we were, we were communicating with each other. I feel that the people on each side of them should have your home , work and cell telephone number. This is not to bother you but in case of an emergency you can be notified of a fire, breakend, water burst or robbery that happened or is in progress. Neighbors need to know who live on their street and especially who live next door. I am not saying to visit each other, but just know or the ability to recognize your neighbors is important.
As for the trailers not in my neighborhood, no bother mentioned that your property had the good fortune not to be damaged but placing trailers next to them would depreciate your property. Would the City decrease the taxes? If not, every month when you pay your mortgage payment each month you would be subsidizing the trailers. People say that is not the chrisitian thing to do, but each month that a mortgage check is written that includes property taxes, you are rendering to Ceasar what is his. What is Ceasar going do for you - reduce your taxes. Also, who is suppose to patrol this new trailer town? The New Orleans Police Department can't patrol what it is responsible for now so you know about adding on to their territory. Besides sometime the police is the criminal.

Pearl
